Bio

Lifeguard, NYC cab driver, Loudoun County farm worker....until finally, a job at the Washington Post! Okay, it was in the basement, working as a paper handler, lowest rung inthe newspaper world. I only got that job because the Post was looking for a white guy to integrate the all black handlers and promote a handler to pressman. Since I'd gone to a black college in Alabama for a semester in 1968, I got the job.
I freelanced for a year and a half and finally landed a summer internship that led to 15 years as a reporter at the Post, San Jose Mercury News and Miami Herald. Blue collar all the way.
Just published novel, Nora's Army.
