Bio

I'm proud to be one of the few full-time podcasters in the country. I contribute to a weekly program called SNEWS® Live. We mainly provide news and information to outdoor and fitness professionals on the business and culture of recreation.
I gravitated to this job after a 2-year stint and a daily newspaper reporter, an 1-year gig as an associate producer for a Public Radio entertainment variety show, a 1-year position in magazine ad sales and a 12 year career as an independent sales rep in the outdoor recreation industry.
My goal in radio production is bring my passion to the outdoors and an active lifestyle to an audience of thoughtful listeners who want to ad meaning to their lives by becoming more fully engaged in it.

What's your favorite public radio show?

My favorite show is probably "Fresh-Air, with Terry Gross." I like it mainly because Terry is such a great interviewer. She asks penetrating questions while revealing little about herself. It's all about the guest and I love that.

What's your secret talent?

I have a sure-fire cure for the hiccups

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

"Bring me to life," by Evenessence

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Lately it's woodpeckers but mostly blessed silence

What's your favorite sound memory?

A recording I did of a climb up El Capitan with a paraplegic climber. A voice yells over a walkie-talkie,"We dropped the pee bottle."
