Bio: I love people and their stories. I am really excited by psychology and spiritual beliefs -- what makes us unique. I am about to finish my PhD in Theology and the Arts at Columbia University/Union Theological Seminary. I write daily audio and email newsletters on Beliefnet.com, and have written and produced TV programs with Oprah, Harville Hendrix, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Thomas Moore, Stephen Mitchell, Bill Moyers, et al. I helped launch A&E in the early 80's. I had a pirate radio station (AM & FM) in Indiana when I was 12.
What's your favorite public radio show?: "All Things Considered." I am an avid radio fan, listening from 2-4 hours every day. "Pipe Dreams." "Speaking of Faith." XM is also really cool.
What's your secret talent?: I've been told I am great listener. I listen carefully and empathically to people, with total engagement and interest.
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: Dragostea Din Tei (Original Romanian Version)
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Transportation sounds: cars, buses, subways, people walking.
What's your favorite sound memory?: The sound of a chickadee bird played at 10% speed in a Psychology of Art class at NYU. Three little chirps at real speed, became hundreds of tones and pitches played at a very slow speed. Amazing and mind-blowing.
Which station do you listen to most?: WNYC, New York City
