MaryLynn Schiavi is a communications professional with 20 years experience as a writer, content developer, and project manager working in a variety of areas including: public relations, marketing, and employee communications. She has also written and produced promotional and educational videos for arts, educational, non-profit organizations, and Fortune 500 companies as well as for PBS. She wrote and produced a biography on the life and ideas of Malcolm Forbes that aired on New Jersey Network (NJN), New Jersey’s public broadcasting affiliate.
Ms. Schiavi has worked as a writer, producer, anchor and talk show host for AT&T Internet Security News Network (ISNN), the first security news network offered on the Web, and as a talk show host for Cablevision's "Meet the Leaders" in Rockland County, New York.
She has written and developed learning forums, promotional content, and communication plans for pharmaceutical, technology, and telecom companies as well as a wide variety of publications.
From 1990 to 1996 she founded and managed "Salon des Philosophes" (Parlor of the Philosophers), an organization dedicated to offering lectures and discussions about philosophical and spiritual issues to a general audience held in restaurants throughout northern New Jersey and Winter Park, Florida. The Salon attracted 18 to 45 people per evening and was considered a unique continuing educational forum that appealed to many middle managers working in corporate America who were thirsty for a place to discuss philosophical ideas. The Salon was featured in the Star Ledger, The New York Times and many other publications throughout New Jersey.
While working for AT&T Internet Services from 1995 to 2000, she developed and managed a variety of educational forums and online publications including: The Electronic Salon -- a learning forum delivered via audio/video conferencing to employees around the country and served as editor and lead writer for E@AT&T, an online magazine dedicated to exploring the human side of technology. She also developed and managed the first Interfaith Holiday Celebration held at AT&T called: Spirit of the Season.
Ms. Schiavi earned a Bachelor's degree at New York University in journalism & political theory, and completed all coursework toward a Master’s degree in religious philosophy at Drew University Graduate School.

Silence and birds mixed with the intermittent sound of tractors backing up.

When I was a child waking up to the sound of a great variety of birds that once existed around our home.
