Bio: 20 years in creative audio of just about every genre. A real studio rat. Writer. Composer/sound designer. Former lawyer (a tedious but useful discipline). Widely traveled adventure-scuba diver. Really in love with my wife. Extrovert, of a reflective sort. Foodie. Animal lover. Film-o-phile.
What's your favorite public radio show?: I have two: This American Life, and RadioLab. TAL explores the human condition with so much humor and empathy, and empowers everyone to tell their story. An inspiring vision. RadioLab explores science with tremendous heart and imagination. I love the buddy team of Jad and Robert. And the detailed sense of musical orchestration that underlies their audio.
What's your secret talent?: I can cook meatballs in a red sauce that brings even vegans to their knees, weeping, tugging at my pantlegs, begging for one more taste. Hah!
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: The scherzo movement (2nd) of Beethoven's Ninth. And Helter Skelter. It's a mash-up.
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Traffic noise, interrupted every so often by a wailing 3 year old next door.
What's your favorite sound memory?: The sound of waves gently lapping against a boat hull, with gulls in the background. (I'm barely awake, donning my wetsuit on the deck.)
Which station do you listen to most?: I thrive on podcasts, from many PubRad stations/programs.
