Well, I'm a techno-twitty MBA, business woman, a sailor and a pilot. I'm on the Board of Directors of my local NPR station, KUSP, where I also do a piece twice a week, called Life in the Fast Lane, that purports to examine technologies that may help to end dependence on fossil fuels.

The joys of my life are my (now adult) children, Seanan, Aran and Nick and my partner of 15 years, Martha.

Like most everyone else here, I'm a radio geek - have been - since grammar school. A couple of times, as a teenager, I got the chance to spend time in the studio with Bruce Morrow (Cousin Brucie) at WABC, in New York City... I was 'jacked beyond the troposphere, and I never looked back!

What's your favorite public radio show?

It's not around anymore... "Work in Progress" by Joe Frank. A seminal series in creative public radio. I lived to hear that show!

What's your secret talent?

I play a mean-assed John Mayall-style blues harp.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

"Flower" by Moby.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Eclectic... you want music to suit your taste, we probably play it on KUSP. And if we don't... we'll, dammit, come program your own show!

What's your favorite sound memory?

Slim Picken's shouting "yeee-hahhhh" while riding an atomic bomb out of a B-52, with the sound of rushing air... leading to "We'll Meet Again" sung by Peggy Lee.
