TJ Dow Biography

TJ Dow received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Ball State University. He went on to obtain his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, a Master’s in Public Administration from Cleveland State University. He serves as President/C.E.O. of the Dow Group, Inc. and The Dow Foundation a non-profit organization, which implements programs that inform the public on different social, political and economic issues. T.J. is responsible for managing, advertising and marketing The Dow Group, Inc. and its affiliates. Programs implemented by The Dow Group, Inc. include public forums, television programs, think tanks, radio programs, publications, political debates and presentations. In addition, T.J. Dow has served as moderator & master of ceremonies for several programs, forums, debates and discussions addressing today’s socio-economic and political issues. He is currently practicing as an assistant prosecuting attorney, working non-stop in the courtroom.

TJ is the founder and CEO of the Dow Foundation, which is a IRS certified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The mission of The Dow Foundation is to contribute to the preparation of youth through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, diversity and education. The Foundation’s motto is “expressing the importance of education and the necessity to lead” to tomorrow’s leaders. The Dow Foundation has implemented The Empowering Youth Through Leadership & Education Summit in Cleveland, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois; Muncie, Indiana; Indianapolis, Indiana; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Gary, Indiana. The purpose of the Summit is to cultivate and nourish the potential within these future leaders. Workshops focus on communication, education, goal setting and leadership. There is also a “Town Hall Meeting: Youth Speak Out” where selected youth sit on a panel to discuss the many issues facing youth today. The Foundation spear-headed the first ever Black College Throw-Back Baseball Game between Grambling State University and Alabama A&M. The game was dedicated to the Negro Baseball League players who were denied the opportunity to play in the major leagues for factors other than their ability to play the game of baseball. Funds were raised for youth programs and Black Colleges.

TJ has presented entertaining, educational and empowering speeches and programs to a number of organizations and groups including but no limited to, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, & Aerospace Academy (SEMMA) 2nd Annual National SEMAA Conference—Presenter, Awards Banquet—Key Note Speaker Parent Café Workshop, Presentation on Proficiency Test; Cleveland State University Education and Leadership Department, “Making Your Mark as a Leader”; St. Agnes—Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church “Youth Day”; Sigma Gamma Rho “Aid Step Down”—Master of Ceremony; Cuyahoga Community College Forum “Did the Dream Die with King”—Moderator; Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA)—Panelists discussing “Politics and Government”; Political Issues Debate—Moderator; Cleveland Mayoral Debate—Moderator; Gear Up Program—Key Note Speaker; and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)—Speaker at Muncie Central Middle School.

TJ is currently writing a book that is due out in April that will focus on giving advice to those aspiring to attend college. This book will attempt to make up for the lack of information in our community that places our youth and first time college students at a severe disadvantage. This book will serve as a resource to those students.

TJ is currently recording his own television show and radio podcast entitled “The TJ Dow Show.” This integrated show offers its audience a blend of education, politics and entertainment. Both shows aim to educate and entertain its listeners through interviewing community leaders, entertainers and sports figures across the United States. The television show will air in Cleveland, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; and Los Angeles California.

I have been told that I have the unwitting ability to connect with people on a variety of levels.
