I'm just a simple guy at heart, who loves life! I am an elementary school teacher living in High Rolls, New Mexico. When I'm not teaching the future generations, you can find me in my mountain side home with my life-partner of 6 years, our 2 cats and 3 dogs. I love singing karaoke, acting in plays, musicals and murder mysteries, and I am an avid writer of poems and short stories. I also love being out in nature since I am a tree-hugging hippy at heart!

But I am through with being pushed around. I'm through with being called a sinner and that I'm going to hell for who I am. I'm through with people not validating my relationship with my partner. I'm through with just sitting back and letting the radical right walk all over me and my people while the rest of society just expect us to deal with it since, after all, we are in fact minorities and our voice doesn't matter.

I refuse to be attacked in such a manner and I will continue to let people know that I have just as much right to be at the table as the rest of them!

When injustice to humanity is being preached, how long do we let it go on before we jump in and offer a new message and a new voice? When are we brave enough to be the teachers, the enlightened ones?

I decided to become a teacher long ago. I can only pray that my voice is being heard.

And as long as I am living, I will continue to be a beacon and a voice of hope and light for those people who are being discriminated against.

Long live Peace, Love and Happiness for everyone in this country...

What's your favorite public radio show?

This is a hard one, but if I had to pick, I'd choose "All Things Considered" because I like learning about the quirky little stories they present.

What's your secret talent?

I can rock a baby to sleep in 15 minutes...strange talent, I know, but I've been able to do it since I was like 12 years old!

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Rustle of the pine needles blowing in the wind, songbirds singing, Hummingbirds whistling, dogs barking, basically just lots and lots of natural sounds one can hear living on the side of a mountain.

What's your favorite sound memory?

My father playing the guitar. He died in a plane crash when I was only 8 years old, but before he died, he took my sister and me up on stage at a hippy music festival and we all sang together for a crowd. Three days later, he was killed. I truly miss his fun-loving spirit!

Which station do you listen to most?

I really love Sirius OutQ 109. As a gay American, it is nice to know that there is a radio station out there for people like myself.
