Bio

I'm a guy who's reinvented himself a zillion times.

Love my family deeply and completely...
Living and breathing as a musician...
Educated as a teacher...
Lots of jobs to pay the bills...
Landed in the software engineering field... (Imagine that writing software is like writing a symphony of actions and information.)...

I'm a HUGE proponent of helping others. I am happy about donating blood to the Red Cross, I enjoyed growing hair to donate to Locks Of Love. (Read about my donation story at: http://jimmybearpearson.com/locksoflove.php)

I am a giant advocate of compassion.

Born on Halloween... the fun thing is that millions of kids celebrate my birthday every year. :-)

Best Modified quote: "Before you make an album, you're unknown. Making an album just places you in obscurity."

What's your favorite public radio show?

Morning Edition... All Things Considered... Car Talk... Fresh Air... This American Life... This I Believe (always inspiring)... The Story... Did I mention Fresh Air? Terry Gross ROCKS!

Oh... was I supposed to pick only one?

What's your secret talent?

I can get a really huge vein in my arm for the nurse every time I give blood to the Red Cross. :-)

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

"Rock 'n' Roll Stew" by Traffic. Followed closely by "Highland Rondo", written and recorded by a certain short-haired hippie I know - Google "jimmy bear highland rondo" . iTunes, too. :-)

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Birds. Lots of birds - cardinals with their "pip", and woodpeckers with their "twurrrrrs", and mocking birds with their variety of sounds.

If you're talking about near our house? Guitars, pianos, trumpets, trombones, synthesizers, bass guitars, and myriad radios playing (sometimes many at the same time!)

What's your favorite sound memory?

The sound of my children playing in the back yard on a weekend...

The sound of my wife looking at me with those deep blue eyes and saying "I will" at the altar. Loud, strong, clear, and true.

Which station do you listen to most?
WUNC
