SHORT VERSION:
Dr. H. Ryan is a university professor with specialties in archaeological chemistry, quantum chemical reactivity, and organic sarcasm.

LESS-SHORT VERSION:
Dr. H. Ryan grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, deriving from a family of cowboys, ranchers, and rodeo-folk. She later moved to the urban jungle of Washington, DC, where she embraced her identity as a city-girl, graduated from high school, and received a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. From there, she moved on to the obscure environment of Cambridge, MA, where she received an AB in Physics and Chemistry, AM in Chemistry, and PhD in Chemical Physics at Harvard University, lettering in two varsity sports and conducting research in Atmospheric Chemistry. For nearly nine years, she walked daily beneath the windows of the Law Offices of Dewey, Cheetham, and Howe. From Cambridge she moved on to Stanford University, undertaking postdoctoral research in ultrafast spectroscopy before proceeding to the great state of Kentucky, where she investigates analyticial techniques in survey archaeology, photochemical reactivity, and probes new semiconductor technology for renewable energy. She has two cats, named after African mischief deities, and enjoys entertainment ranging from reality television to opera.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

Arrgh! The mere mention of music wedgies inevitably brings "Blister in the Sun" into the fore of my audio consciousness. Thanks a lot.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

The rumble of a train underscored by "Ode to Joy" on church bells.

What's your favorite sound memory?

It's more of a sense memory - the culminating song of Don Giovanni coupled with the taste of peach Bubble-Yum.
