I've spent the last 17 years working at a vocational/technical college in northern Utah. I'm currently serving as the Director of Student Services.

I have other hobbies, though. I do volunteer work for the county-wide cable TV channel where I'm the producer/host of a local public affairs talk show. My wife is my associate producer (she lines up the guests) and my youngest son is a tech on the show (runs the board, runs the cameras, whatever it takes). My oldest son stops in from time to time to tweak the lighting and complain that I've changed his lighting plan.

In my spare (ha!) time I sail and hike and generally enjoy the Utah outdoors.

What's your favorite public radio show?

It sounds cliched, but I don't have a favorite. What I love about public radio is that there is always something good to listen to.

What's your secret talent?

I'm pretty much an open book. Most folks might not guess that I'm a decent cook when I put my mind to it.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

"The Other Side of Life" by the Moody Blues. No idea why. I've not heard it lately, but it's hovering just at the edge of my brain, like a celebrity stalker waiting outside the gates of a Belair mansion.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Wind, birdsong and (sadly) traffic.

What's your favorite sound memory?

Hearing my future bride voicing her consent to my proposal.
