I have variously been a lawyer, a politician, an advertising executive and a management consultant.

I gave all that up ten years ago to explore my creative side.

I came across radio by accident. But I seem to have a gift for getting people to open up on my show, and tell their stories.

And everyone has a story to tell. Everyone has something of the special about them.

What's your favorite public radio show?

"The Story with Dick Gordon," on NPR's WUNC.

Dick never approaches an issue the obvious way. He goes out and finds real people, who have a different perspective on a headline.

What's your secret talent?

I'm not Don Imus. But seriously...I get real people to tell real stories that real listeners enjoy.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

I live just around the corner from the University of North Carolina...soooooo...the sound of the winning Tar Heel ball going through the net during the NCAA Championship Game...

What's your favorite sound memory?

The sea.
