Jeff Adams started a writer’s life after flunking out of journalism school at the University of Oregon in 1986. He spent the next ten years of his life honing a prose voice that, alas, could not find an audience. Upon attempting theatre, Adams found some success with entertaining mysteries, comedies, and the occasional work of serious stage literature. His published works include ‘The Picketers’ and ‘The Desk’ both available through Playscripts.com.

Upon discovering audio drama in the early 21st century Adams became a writer-producer. His web series Imagination-X (ixaudio.com) was recognized three times by the Mark Time Awards for Excellence in Science Fiction audio. In 2004, he founded the Icebox Radio Theater in International Falls, Minnesota where he still serves as Artistic Director. In 2005, the IBRT’s miniseries ‘Snowbank’, which Adams wrote and directed, was awarded a Silver Mark Time Award. In 2006, the IBRT produced eleven live radio plays in the International Falls area. All have now aired on local airwaves. During much of this time, Adams hosted ‘Sound Stages’ a podcast that searched out and featured the best of modern audio.

Adams lives in International Falls with his wife and two children.

Every year during the Oscar telecast, I can name all the movies in the montage sequences even if I haven't seen the films.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

That Bosa Nova instrumental from Austin Powers II.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Snowblowers

What's your favorite sound memory?

I did sound design on an audio piece titled 'Dark Ride' that takes place inside a carnival spookhouse. I had to design the sounds of the spookhouse. I'll never forget the first time I heard it all together.
