Bio: Born Panama. Grew up in Corpus Christi Texas. Trained as an Engineer. Submarine Officer. Computer Programmer. Father of 2 girls. Settled in Austin, TX, live music capital of the world. Music lover my entire life. Not very good on guitar, but love to play.
What's your favorite public radio show?: All Songs Considered.
What's your secret talent?: I am trained to run a nuclear engineering plant, command a submarine, and do stand up comedy...oh, and change diapers and do bedtime.
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: Impossible Germany (Wilco, Sky Blue Sky).
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: A chunky Stevie Ray Vaughn blues shuffle, driven by an old Fender Stratocaster thru a TS-9 tubescreamer en route to a Bassman amp with one blown speaker. Either that or anything with a twangy Telecaster guitar (punk, rock, punkrock, alt, country, altcountry...)
What's your favorite sound memory?: First time I heard "The Bed's Too Big Without You," from the Police's Regatta de Blanc (from my older sisters record collection) or driving in my orange '76 VW Rabbit listening to a cassette of "Driver 8," on REM's Fables of the Reconstruction.
