I live in San Diego, my hometown, after attending UCLA, living in Madrid, Spain, and working for Congress in DC, before finally landing at a public jazz radio station doing fundraising! I'm currently taking ballet (which I'm miserable at) and I'm eagerly awaiting the birth of twin nephews. I've never met a cheese I didn't like and coffee and I are great friends. I love used book stores, the Spanish language, dirty martinis, cooking, Laura Ingalls Wilder, volleyball, and the San Diego Padres.

What's your favorite public radio show?

Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, Marketplace. Kai Ryssdal is dreamy, and I'm not afraid to say it, America. I'm also a fan of all the Jazz DJ's at KSDS in San Diego, especially Claudia Russell and the Jazz Ride Home. (www.jazz88online.org)

What's your secret talent?

I'm good at making people laugh, remembering song lyrics, and quoting movies. I don't like keeping my talents a secret, as they are few and strange!

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

Me & Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

I live in an urban beach community, so the combination of waves crashing and people digging through trashcans in the alley behind my building.

What's your favorite sound memory?

My mom singing me "Edelweiss" when I was a kid. Try not to cry!
