What's your favorite public radio show?: Radio Lab--I've only listened to it on the internet, but it has blown me away with its fresh content and informal, genuine hosts. I love mysteries, and it's great to look at our everyday lives like that--as mysterious, with secrets everywhere waiting to be discovered (or dreading it, hey!).
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Our washing machine, which is right next to my bedroom, sounds as if a plane were taking off INSIDE our house. It's a bit freaky, and sometimes great.
What's your favorite sound memory?: My host mother in Nepal would do puja (worship) in the morning before I was ready to wake up, so I would hear her in the next room, singing to the gods and ringing a bell. Getting up early wouldn't be so difficult then...
