Grad student in Historical Archaeology who is working on a thesis about dairying on a plantation in New York in the 17th century. She is amazed at how many different types of cheese there are when all it is is milk gone bad. Admittedly, it is milk gone bad in many different ways.
- What's your favorite public radio show?
"Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!" It's like "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," except it's weekly and has Carl Kassell. But they both have Mo Rocca.
- What's your secret talent?
I can dig 50cm by 50cm holes in the ground without a measuring tape with amazing precision, accuracy, and speed.
- What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?
"You Ruined Everything" by Jonathan Coulton because I considered putting it in my audio clip, but there just wasn't enough time. You can hear it at: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/songs
- What sound is most characteristic of where you live?
At the moment, it is the new puppy barking. Normally it's the rapids of the Souhegan River just behind our house.
- What's your favorite sound memory?
My favorite sound "memory" is more a musician than a specific sound. Saturdays when I was little, my parents would play Harry Chapin while we all cleaned the house. My job was to dust and clean the wood cabinets. It was just very peaceful.
- Which station do you listen to most?
