Bio: I'm originally from Boise, Idaho. I went to college in Seattle, and started wandering after that. I spent some time living in South Africa and traveled all over the southern part of Africa. Eventually I made my way to NYC where I went to grad school. I'm still here. I live on a quiet tree-lined street in Brooklyn. I work at PAPER Magazine. It's pretty exciting. But, not as exciting as being a host on NPR!
What's your favorite public radio show?: My favorite public radio show is Morning Becomes Eclectic. I listen to it every day, though it comes from Los Angeles, so in NYC it's really Afternoon Becomes Eclectic. It works out well, because I am more awake in the afternoon, so I can pay more attention
What's your secret talent?: I am really good at organizing things. I can pack a suitcase like you wouldn't believe!
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: 'Hotel Song' -Regina Spektor
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Traffic (unfortunately!) It's also quite windy here. So combining the two I guess it would be honkswishhhhh
What's your favorite sound memory?: The first time I heard 'Grace.' Jeff Buckley blew my mind. I wish I could listen to it again for the first time.
