I am getting my PhD in History at Indiana University. I am dedicated to public history and recently spent a year in El Salvador collecting oral histories from the Jewish community there.

I was born and raised in Texas.

What's your favorite public radio show?

Definitely This American Life. There is nothing like it and it reminds me why I love and appreciate the United States on those days when loving and appreciating the United States is hard to do.

What's your secret talent?

I can make almost anyone talk to me, and intensely. From children to 100 year-old women. I realize the gift and secretly treasure it like no other.

Also, I sell sex toys and safe sex tips on the side to help pay for my PhD. A girl's gotta do....

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

A hora combo by a Klezmer-funk band named Golem. Don't ask....I jammed out to it running this morning.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Lawnmowers...the sound of serene suburbia.

What's your favorite sound memory?

The combined laugh of the women in my family.

Which station do you listen to most?

WNYC (via the internet) and WFIU (gotta support the local folk)
