Bio

I was born in New York City, but have called the San Francisco-Bay Area home for the last twenty years.

A graduate of Golden Gate University, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Pre-Law. My Master's degree is from the University of California, Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism. (GO BEARS!)

I've worked for CNN in San Francisco, the Fox TV affiliate in Oakland, and for the Hartford Courant in Hartford, Conn. I also hosted Weekend Edition for KRCB in Santa Rosa, California, and was the News Director at the NPR-affiliate serving the Dayton (Ohio) metro area. Currently, I am a reporter with Georgia Public Broadcasting.

In addition to news coverage at WYSO (Dayton, Ohio), I also hosted a weekly, live program titled In Conversation, where I interviewed some of the nation's top newsmakers. My favorite topics to report on include state and national politics, health, children and family issues, as well as education.

My only child is now a junior at Atlanta's Spelman College, where she majors in Child Psychology.

I spend my free time (WHAT free time!?) cycling, exercising, reading all the FREE books that come my way, and cooking for family and friends. I really look forward to learning more and exploring the ATL this summer. I’m also teaching myself (ok, trying to teach myself, French and Italian).

Truly, this entry could not have happened without the most excellent help of friends and family alike. From the West Coast (Bay Area and all my fellow Cal Bears) to the East (from the boogie down Bronx to Yellow Springs, Ohio) and now in HOT-lanta, the love and support, the prayers and kind thoughts are appreciated.

To all my family in the New York City area, in the D.C. area, in the ATL, and in the SF Bay Area ….too numerous to name, too precious to ever forget. I LOVE YOU FOREVER!

When my daughter was just learning to walk, the sound of her laughter as I chased her around the table, both of us on our hands and knees!
