- Bio
I'm married with two kids - one is a twenty-month old girl named Sophie. The other is a cat named Sneezer. I'm a government lawyer by day, writer by night. My essays - both humorous and serious - as well as short stories can be read at www.carnivalofglee.com. I've also been a newspaper reporter, humor columnist, and freelance writer. I've been on stage in a number of community and professional theatre productions including "Diary of Anne Frank," "Our Town," "Crimes of the Heart," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and several others. Recently, two short plays I wrote titled "All There Is" (drama) and "You Stole My Pancreas" (comedy - as if the title didn't give that away) were awarded showcase performances in the Quad City Playwrights' Festival.
- What's your favorite public radio show?
"Fresh Air" is great. Also "Talk of the Nation," "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me," "Whad'ya Know," and just about everything else I listen to too. Every one of the hosts on these shows make me feel like I'm just sitting across from them at a table parsing out issues or sharing a laugh. That's good radio.
- What's your secret talent?
Origami. Kidding, though I did buy an actual origami kit once. It's still unopened.
- What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?
"Head Shoulders Knees and Toes." I did mention I have a twenty-month old daughter, right?
- What sound is most characteristic of where you live?
Sophie laughing.
- What's your favorite sound memory?
Sophie saying "Daddy funny" and laughing at little more than me walking in after a long day at work.
- Which station do you listen to most?
- WSUI
