Bio: I work in the 'education' industry, in a town slowly losing all its manufacturing base. My background is in visual art, though I'm more a computer support guy these days. I've always enjoyed stories and story-telling. I really thought Charles Kuralt did a great job with Sunday Morning. Then I discovered All Things Considered when I was in college and have never ever lost interest in listening.
What's your favorite public radio show?: This American Life
What's your secret talent?: Fixing anything that's broken, even if it's something I've never been trained to fix
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: "Alive" by Pearl Jam
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Faint highway noise with a little bit of bird chirping, your typical suburban white noise
What's your favorite sound memory?: Probably the first Blue Angels airshow I ever attended. For some reason really loud noises from man made precision machines really hold a fascination for me. I suppose if I was old enough, hearing the detonation of a Hydrogen Bomb Test might be be my favorite sound memory.
