Bio: In a nutshell: married, 2 kids, dog, cat (both from rescue societies - the pets, not the kids), mid-sized SUV and a small hybrid, same bike since college. Bachelor's in biology, two postgraduate degrees, good job --- but what I really get a kick out of is coming up with original, extemporaneous humor during everyday conversations as well as writing and presenting stuff that makes people laugh --- such as the skits/monologues I've done at family camps over the past decade --- and livening up the branch meetings at work by finding humor even in the most serious of business discussions. A win-win situation: entertains the boss and coworkers and helps me stay awake.
What's your favorite public radio show?: "Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!" - I bought an iPod just to be able to make sure I could hear the whole show every week. (I listen to it, along with those of a few other NPR podcasts, while walking my dog so that I won't be interrupted.)
What's your secret talent?: Making people smile, sometimes laugh, in response to what I say (intentionally).
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: Margaret's Waltz
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: "Mom!" (followed by, if no answer) "Dad!"
