I like sweater weather and fall leaves and anything with cranberries mixed in. I hate my cell phone and would never own a blackberry, but I'm too cheap to get a land line. I dream about living all over the country, but I've only lived in upstate New York and rural Louisiana.

What's your favorite public radio show?

The Roundtable on WAMC Northeast Public Radio. It's frothy mix of current events, live music, and interviews with authors of all stripes.

Okay, I'm a little biased. I'm the show's senior producer.

What's your secret talent?

I can get to work at 5am and stay coherent all day long. I'm like the energizer bunny.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

Andrew Bird singing Sovay and pretty much anything else off of The Mysterious Production of Eggs. I'm officially obsessed.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Shopping carts filled with empty bottles, clanking against cobblestone streets.

What's your favorite sound memory?

Waking up to Paradox Lake lapping against my family's tiny motor boat outside our cabin in the Adirondack mountains.
