Bio: I'm currently a grad student at the University of California at Santa Cruz in the newly minted social documentation program. Before that I was living in woods hole massachusetts working for Transom. And before that I was in NY doing all sorts of things, mostly trying to figure out how to start making radio.
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: Much to my distress, old Billy Joel. My older sister listened to billy joel a lot when I was like four or five (early 80's) and so against my will I know all of the lyrics to nearly every billy joel song written before 1990. I'm afraid that before I die the last thing I hear will be "It's still rock n' roll to me" which sadly is stuck in my head even as we speak.
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: ah santa cruz and the perennial sound of drum circle after drum circle after drum circle
What's your favorite sound memory?: wind creaking through my old house on cape cod at night while I'm trying to sleep. Yup, it's a cliched sound I know, but I still love it. I kind of felt like I was on a ship. A pirate ship of course.
