- Bio
32 years old. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, John Hughes era. See, e.g., Ferris Bueller's Day Off and the Breakfast Club.
Obtained J.D. from Vanderbilt University where I learned to appreciate a slower pace of life, as well as the pragmatic approach to the law.
Did my undergrad at Amherst College, where I played rugby and worked as a sports and feature writer for the campus newspaper, The Amherst Student.
In the interests of full disclosure, I worked in television news before law school. First at Court TV and then at WBBM, the CBS affiliate in Chicago.
- What's your favorite public radio show?
11 Central Ave - I know it's a not a full-length show, but it's my favorite thing going on NPR right now.
I'm also a long time fan of Fresh Air, The Morning Show (I'm a commuter), Car Talk, and Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.
- What's your secret talent?
Reading long, complicated texts and translating them into easy-to-understand concepts and materials.
- What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?
Tie between "Jump Off" - by the Wu-Tang Clan; and "If I Can't Change Your Mind" - by Sugar
- What sound is most characteristic of where you live?
The hustle and bustle of a crowded sports bar ...
- What's your favorite sound memory?
Listening to Joshua Redman performing live in Chicago's Symphony Hall, with Aaron Goldberg on piano, performing songs off of Redman's "Beyond" album.
- Which station do you listen to most?
- It's a tossup between WBEZ, the NPR station in Chicago, and WXRT. As for the latter, there's no better mainstream rock station in the country, in my humble opinion.
