Bio: I am the editor and publisher of PerformInk Newspaper, Chicago's theatre and film trade paper. I have been a journalist for almost 20 years and have won two Lisagor Awards for exemplarary journalism. My radio experience ended in 1995, when I ended a stint as a host on Lesbigay Radio.
What's your favorite public radio show?: Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me, though All Things Considered and Morning Edition are close seconds.
What's your secret talent?: I sing and play guitar, but only for my kids.
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: Life Support from the musical Rent.
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: At this moment, the buzzing of cicadas, followed by the "e-ow, e-ow" of the seagulls that sounds exactly like a woman reacting to a pinch in the ass.
What's your favorite sound memory?: Standing on a golf course and listening to nothing human.
