State: MA
Bio: Born in Newport, RI; shuttled from place to place for the next 5 years by my Naval officer father and RN mother; settled in Northern Virginia (Woodbridge, to be exact); went to a science & technology high school; went to college at Sarah Lawrence and studied poetry writing and film history; moved to Boston after college and worked at WGBH as a fundraising database analyst/administrator for 7 years. Recently left to pursue my true passion. When I catch up to it, I'll let you know what it is.
What's your favorite public radio show?: Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me (closely followed by Car Talk)
What's your secret talent?: Knowing the lyrics to almost any song I've heard at least once (at least the chorus).
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: All Good Things, Nelly Furtado
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Birds chirping, and cars driving too fast down my street.
What's your favorite sound memory?: My parents were addicted to the TV show Mystery! when I was a kid. Once a week, I'd drift off to sleep (or more likely would attempt to read a book by the hallway light) while listening to the wailing woman and the strains of the Mystery! theme, knowing that my parents would be occupied and that I could try to put off sleep for another hour.
