What's your favorite public radio show?

Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.

I love Ira Glass, I love Lynne Rossetto Kasper, but Peter Segal ROCKS. I mean, that guy does everything! He stars in martial arts movies, he knows a lot about Chinese wisdom, and he’s totally on top of the weekly trivia.

Wait. That is the right Segal… right?

What's your secret talent?

I went to college on a tuba scholarship. Oh, yes… I dabble in ALL the arts.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

I was totally humming 99 Luft Balloons yesterday. Or 99 Red Balloons. Whatever Casey Kasem called it.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

I live a block away from a cemetery. Which is nice, because dead people make quiet neighbors.

What's your favorite sound memory?

I don't know if it's a favorite, but it's pretty memorable. Once lightening struck the curb I was driving past... about 15 feet away from me. It was so loud I FELT it in my chest, like I was standing next to the speakers at a Metallica concert. It was so hot I felt the heat on the side of my face, like I was peering into an oven.

That was pretty insane.

Which station do you listen to most?

Depends on the time of day. NPR in the morning, NPR Classical on the way to work, and The Current on the way home.
