Bio

I grew up in Portland, Oregon, but I'm currently living in Brooklyn. I've been in New York for six years, though I have a feeling I'll be back on the west coast within a few months. For the past few years, I've been a freelance tv and video producer. In 2004 I started "Clips & Quips," an offbeat entertainment show that airs at college television stations across the country. As host and producer of the show, I've been able to do a lot of cool things from attending Sundance and the New York Toy Fair to interviewing people like Ira Glass, Natalie Portman, George Clooney, Chuck Palahniuk, and others. I've also produced a few promotional videos for non-profit organizations, as well as some entertainment segments for Current TV.

What's your favorite public radio show?

Just one? This is tough... I guess it's a tie between Fresh Air and This American Life. And then there's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Splendid Table and Weekend Edition with Liane Hansen, (who doesn't like the puzzle master?).

What's your secret talent?

I am the world record holder for most high-fives in an hour, and I have the certificate from Guinnness World Records to prove it.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Pigeons cooing and cars honking.

What's your favorite sound memory?

After getting tucked in as a kid, listening to my mom and sister whispering downstairs.
