Bio: My life is so simple; must be why I'm interested in other subjects and other people. I grew up in Baltimore, an amalgam of Barry Levinson and John Waters, with a soupcon of H. L. Mencken. That should give you some idea.
What's your favorite public radio show?: Hard to narrow it down; WAMU is my home station, so I get Diane Rehm and Kojo Namde up close, and I'm still working my way back through the archives of This American Life.
What's your secret talent?: Is it possible to develop a talent in secret? The neighbors would hear me tap dancing, and the cat knows I sing in the shower. I can deconstruct complex three-dimensional objects in my brain; how's that?
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: Mercifully, my head is clear right now, but since you've brought it up, something will probably creep in soon.
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Traffic as the beat, birds as the melody.
What's your favorite sound memory?: Snow crunching under a fast-flying sled
