Bio: Born in Massachusetts in the birthplace of the pink plastic flamingo..I even worked at the factory. I have been in radio since 1979 and have a deep appreciation for humorists and the craft of making people laugh. I love creative writing and the satisfaction of producing my efforts.
What's your favorite public radio show?: "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" Carl Kassel is really a funny man!
What's your secret talent?: I can have a conversation with my dog..no really I can. I taught her how to howl on cue and we usually harmonize when she does it.
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: "Acadian Driftwood" by Richard Shindell from his new cd "South of Delia" It's a collection of story songs to which he has put his own special phrasing.
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Horses. We have two grays and we can hear them nicker in their stalls
What's your favorite sound memory?: My dad coming in from work late at night. He worked for the Boston and Maine Railroad and worked the worst hours anyone could possibly hope to tolerate. Monday 3p to 11p, Tuesday 11p to 7a, Wednesday 11p to 7a, Fri off, Sat and Sun 7a to 3p.
I most remember the sound of his key in the door and seeing his lantern illuminating the kitchen floor.
