Bio

From a young age, I wanted to be on the radio, mostly to entertain people, but along the way, I discovered that I had a knack for talking to complete strangers. I completed my degree in Communications and Sociology at the Goldsmiths College in New Cross, London hoping I could make it to the BBC but work permits are tough to come by when your student visa expires.

I've dabbled in a lot of theatre, sketch comedy, improv, singing, and music in my life, but have been working a 9 to 5 to pay the bills for the last few years.

I'd love the opportunity to host a Public Radio show as I think it appeals to people who actively seek out better content. That's not a dig at commercial stations because there's a time and place for it on your dial.

What's your favorite public radio show?

Car Talk; I'm embracing my inner grease monkey. Or at least learning what I don't want to hear from my auto mechancic.

What's your secret talent?

It's a toss up between baking bread or playing guitar.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

"Underdogs" by Manic Street Preachers. I'm probably getting too old to be a punk but it fills me with a lot of energy.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Well, it's metro Atlanta so that would be traffic, but closer to home it's the whirr of lawn mowers and occasional barking from neighborhood dogs. And more traffic.

What's your favorite sound memory?

As a young boy, my grandfather would let me rasp the strikewheel of his old Bic lighter while I sat on his lap in his old leather easychair. It's been over 30 years, but the rusty snap of the metal against flint stays with me.

Which station do you listen to most?
