I am that gal you would enjoy having a meal with, even if the food wasn't that great. Giggle. I just am who I am without trying to be something I am not. This has proven successful for me, especially in on-air fund raising at WYCE, listener sponsored community radio. I'm in my 12th year as a volunteer programmer. Over the last two fund drives I raised around 17% of WYCE's yearly operating budget on my four shows (12 on-air hours). Being me seems to work well for me! I waited until May 13th to post. Not only is it Mother’s Day, today is the 6 month anniversary of my Mother passing away unexpectedly. This one’s for you Mom! I love you and will miss you forever...

What's your favorite public radio show?

I have to choose the first show I loved on NPR, A Prairie Home Companion. I've often said that I want a show like that when I grow up. Smile.

What's your secret talent?

Getting musicians to relax during on-air interviews with me.

What's your favorite sound memory?

Giggle. I remember the first time I was on-air trying to start my LP, yes LP. I was talking and reaching, and very nervous of course. My hand was shaking so that I hit the start button twice, effectively turning the record player on & then off again directly. I can still hear that unique sound of the song starting & then the sound of it grinding to a halt. LOL. The things we remember, eh?
