Bio

Born in Budapest, Julia spent the early part of her life going to various schools in said city. By 5th grade, however, most of her time was spent in Los Angeles, which she promptly abandoned for New York City, as soon as she obtained a high school degree and a college acceptance letter. After her dream of being an intern at the Daily Show was fulfilled, she went on to further explore the worlds of television, film and theatre in various manifestations - from writing a script to the editing room, production assisting to play producing, she dipped her feet in every water imaginable. In her free time Julia enjoys concerts, knitting, books and such, concerts, taking the Staten Island Ferry for no particular reason and concerts. Most of all, she enjoys spending quality time with her various guitars and books on guitars.

What's your favorite public radio show?

This American Life (of course) and Morning Becomes Eclectic.

What's your secret talent?

I can fold my outer ear into my ear canal and it will stay there. The only other person I've ever seen do this is Stephen Colbert. I think that's enough to warrant classifying this skill as an actual talent.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

"New Love" by Voxtrot

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Children running down the street.

What's your favorite sound memory?

The crunch my father's shoes would make as he walked down the street when I was young. I always tried to replicate it, but my feet were too tiny and didn't have the weight his did.
