Born in Connecticut in 1969, then transplanted to Seattle, WA in 1996, I am a feminist, liberal, stay-at-home mom. I depend on Public Radio to keep me in touch with the world outside the ABC's and macaroni & cheese. I have been teaching computer software classes since moving to the Seattle area and love, most of all, working with folks that are JUST learning the computer. Most folks think everyone already knows how to use a computer, but not only does everyone NOT know, not everyone wants to use them. I would also contend that a lot of folks out there think they know how to use their computer but there is so much they are missing. I teach part time at a local community college and tutor throughout the area, and just love it when someone has that "aha" moment about something on the computer. I don't program computers, nor do I build them as a hobby (or otherwise), I just love helping people be less frustrated with their computers.

What's your favorite public radio show?

My favorite is "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" but the list goes on and on for the shows I enjoy on NPR; "The Conversation," "Weekday," "All Things Considered," and on and on...

What's your secret talent?

If I told you it wouldn't be a secret anymore.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Frothing Milk for Latte and Spotted Owls getting a hug.

What's your favorite sound memory?

My mother reading the book, "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak
