I'm very much a tactile person; I like to make things with my hands. I enjoy cooking, and few things in life feel better than having a few close friends sit around a table over dinner and some good conversation. I love music. It's probably one of the leading forces in my life. I enjoy people-watching. It's a bit like watching birds- except you don't feed them. I am lactose-intolerant, but I still treat myself to ice cream and creamed coffee. Indulgent.

What's your secret talent?

I am Synaesthetic, so I can feel and see sound.

For instance, "Golden Age" by Beck feels very gauzy and the colors are very sheer and light. Imagine a massive white room filled with pastel and primary-colored chiffon with a light breeze blowing the sheets back and forth like a rippling sea.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

I just had a peanut butter and honey sandwich (you must try it sometime) and I feel very homey and relaxed, and the song I have in my head is perfect for this state: "Hazey Jane I" by Nick Drake.

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Well, I grew up in different parts of Los Angeles, so that is home to me. The oddly-comforting sounds of Home often include: the sounds of dogs barking; children's laughter, the sound of their balls bouncing, and the sound of their bicycles whirring past; distant traffic with the occasional horn honk punctuation mark; the wind brushing through the fronds of the palm trees.

What's your favorite sound memory?

Grandpa's voice. If his voice had a color, it would have been grey with a smoky blue undertone. His voice was mellow and comforting- the best story-telling voice. When he hummed, it was like a happy lullaby each time. The sound of Grandpa's voice always felt like a smile.
