State: VA
Bio: I grew up and went to college in the beautiful state of Rhode Island. I then spent several years in Austin, where I went to grad school. And after I got my degree, I just couldn't leave the school environment and taught German at a VA college, but now I am on the college administration side.
What's your favorite public radio show?: That's a hard one. My favorite show would be "This American Life," followed closely by "Marketplace."
What's your secret talent?: That's actually mentioned in my clip.
What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?: "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" - the version from BBC's Couplings. In my head, I sing it very well.
What sound is most characteristic of where you live?: Birds - a nice sound to wake up to. There are actually different bird sounds throughout the day and early evening.
What's your favorite sound memory?: The sound a big truck makes when it is shifting gears. This sound memory is actually attached to a smell memory (the exhaust smell of said truck), which always reminds me of early mornings when I visited Rome.
